It's amazing how much one reads about the need for green buildings but the utter lack of emphasis on it when it's time for building or buying. My real estate agent tells me one one cares. I think I am building the first residential condo unit in center city Philadelphia that uses geothermal HVAC, structural insulated panels and energy star rated roofing and appliances. It pays off in the long run but most builders want immediate profit and most buyers want to see their money in the surfaces and fixtures.
