USGBC gets a new home
The U.S. Green Building Council is pleased to announce our move into a new green office space at:
1800 Massachusetts Avenue, NW
Suite 300
Washington, DC 20036Our rapid increase in both membership and staff has allowed us to expand into a new office environment that is a showcase for USGBC’s forward thinking and green building innovation.
Delightfully Energy-Efficient
Offices and workstations are positioned to maximize day lighting, and all light fixtures were selected for their quality of light and high energy efficiency. Of the energy consumed, 100% is offset by renewable sources.Materials that Matter
The materials chosen are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally responsible. For example, salvaged wood timbers create a screen forest wall for an elliptical conference room, and beautiful rapidly renewable bamboo, linoleum, and cork flooring are installed throughout the space. In addition, only low-VOC paints and coatings were used.Low to No H20
The new office uses 40% less water via low-flow plumbing fixtures, dual-flush toilets, and waterless urinals.Ordinary and Extraordinary
The new office demonstrates how environmentally preferred green materials and highly efficient systems can transform an ordinary office space into an extraordinary place to work and learn. Please bear with us during this exciting time as we settle into our new office and complete the LEED certification process for 1800 Mass. Ave. Please update your address books and direct all mail and deliveries to our new location.
