This problem is due to the general structure of the web itself. I like the idea of blogs like this that will actually discuss topics that people rarely understand.

We enjoy trying to be as sustainable as possible in all of the areas of our lives and I think its in our Southwest Wisconsin culture.

For those of you looking to learn more about sustainable design and construction, The Go Green Home in Los Angeles offers a Living Laboratory where you can learn how a veteran contractor, Fernando Feldman, designed and built a [pre-rated] LEED Platinum home. www.GoGreenHomeLA.com. We also have a video library of the design and construction process, photo archive, and there will be tours and workshops in Fall 2009. For event info you can check out www.GoGreenHomeLA.com and click on the events page.

Fernando is happy to share his green building knowledge so that more and more buildings can be built to the highest standards of sustainabilty. Feel free to contact him via www.gogreencalifornia.com if you'd like to pick his brain.

Thanks for the opportuntiy to plug - I think our site is very helpful for anyone considering deconstruction on their home. We recommend contractors and manage the process for you. We currently serve California, but we hope our information and blog will help educate everyone about the value of reuse in home building. http://www.decon-network.org

You should go to www.mdconstructionllc.com to read a continuous blog about using Green when constructing a new home. The author is doing a bi-weekly? entry going through all of the steps to use when building Green. He started with site selection, and is just working through the opportunities one step at a time. It is a site for MD Construction, but in the blog he is NOT trying to sell anything, just telling you the facts to use with your builder when you build. It is pretty interesting, and he's got a ways to go to be complete. Check it out.

We are planning on expanding into Solar Power. We went to the 2008 Solar Power convention in San Diego this past October. We learned far more information from the convention then we did on building sites. The reason is it is a competitive field and building sites, naturally, aren't going to divulge all of their trade secrets, no should they.
